MB-D10 some use EN-EL3e and some EN-EL4a -- Why the difference?

I'm perusing/shopping for an MB-D10 on e-bay and I see some advertised with EN-EL3e and some 2 EN-EL4a batteries included. From the pictures, I can tell the contacts, battery trays and the batteries are definitely very different.

What is going on with this?  Are some of these battery grips mislabeled, counterfeit, after-market or what?

Whether new or used, I want a genuine Nikon MB-D10 and I want trays for both the same battery that my D300s uses and AA's.
