A7r does the Milky Way in long exposure
9

I got an A7r some time ago as a replacement for my Nikon D800e which was a great nightscape camera. I believe the A7r is actually better. It seems to give brighter images for the same ISO and Exposure length than the D800e. I have taken many shots from the same spot with the D800e and same lens and it always showed the foreground as black with no colour.

Here is a 20 panel mosaic of the autumn Milky Way in total darkness (its at my dark site and it was a new moon weekend) 30 seconds ISO6400, noise reduction in camera, auto white balance Nikon 14-24 at 14mm F2.8 and Novoflex adapter.

Greg.
