Re: need advice on buying the Dimage A1

I owned the A2 from 2004 to 2012 and I really liked it - especially from the "package" it offered with its great fast manual zoom lens covering 28-200mm. BUT over the time also its limitations got obvious essentially related to the sensor: low DR; bad high(er) ISO with ISO400 practically unusable; bad JPG engine (so shooting RAW was almost mandatory); and pretty big files for a 8MP cam. OTOH handling was great, form factor nice, tilting EVF a revolution in that time; same the tilting LCD. I'm wondering a bit what makes you want to buy such a "dinosaur" other than collection? For my part I substituted the A2 with the Sony RX100 in 2012, And the more recently launched Sony RX10 seems to be inspired by the A2 - just in a much more advanced and capable package.

I also have a range of Sony's, but none tether like the a2 does. I had to buy a panny gx7 to do that.
