What I'm trying to say is that if a person has a real passion for photography, can carry a few more ounces, they can get much less 'mushy' images for not that much more money. I think the very cheap, all plastic, toy like 1/2.3" superzoom are great for kids learning and can't afford anything better. But, for adults that are aspiring photographers who are discriminating and want better, it's best to get the right tools for the right jobs.

My SH-50 does the jobs I bought it for - and for Gannets In Flight and the moon, the red dot sight in the SP-100EE would make life a lot easier. But neither is good for serious landscape stuff.

I own a Nikon D800, and some expensive lenses...
Today I purchased an Olympus SP-100ee specifically for wildlife shots, mainly birds - Why?

Because I'm certainly not forking out thousands for a lens to capture wildlife at a lesser distance than a superzoom can...

Mushy or not, I don't need an A3 sized photo to print or to view on my PC when it doesn't fit on the screen!
Superzooms are good for the price and most photos I look at 100% on here look crap anyway. The ones that don't, have been doctored in photoshop or cropped already!

Aha

Nice to see someone else has gone for the SP-100. I look forward to seeing some of you're pictures.
