I totally agree with you, for landscape pictures the 1/2.3" sensors are NOT the right size sensors to use. Unless you can deal with mush for trees, leaves, grass, mountains, etc, a much larger sensor is necessary. It all comes down to how much of a compromise you are willing to accept in IQ and sharpness. There are plenty of used m4/3 and APC-S cameras and long range lenses that will give you much better/sharper IQ than 1/2.3" sensors. Yes, you will need to spend a bit more money, but you will be much more satisfied with you pictures, especially if you print them. They will also not be quite as small, light or convenient, but thats life. If landscape and wildlife is what you shoot most, that is what you will need to use which will give you much better pictures. All superzoom cameras are not 'pocketable' anyway, so what is the difference, a few ounces and inches to carry?

Isn't the largest lens for a M4/3 camera 300mm?
Then it's not the best thing to shoot wildlife, unless it's been captured and placed in a cage 10 metres in front of you!!!
