Color and B&W

It's said that in photography, everything that doesn't add to the frame, leave it out.

That includes colour.

If you don't have vibrant, beautiful light and complimentary colours, it's better just to leave it out. Complementary colours are as important to a colour frame as balance, the rule of thirds and other compositional elements.

So if you're not shooting black and white (or converting in post) then you're missing out on an important tool for photography, and an important way to simplify your shots.

Unless you're just a gearhead.

It's more important how an image looks as a thumbnail than how it looks at 100%.
