Good idea.  Another one is if IS is enabled and you are not much of a back-button focuser or don't spend time just tracking and fire away the first shot ASAP.

However overall I think more details are needed from OP.  I would also avoid silent shutter modes.  I have taken sharp bursts before all the way through with good tracking.  I set both first and second shot to focus priority I believe.
