D3300 external mic test, YT-video
2 minutes of me playing guitar, but nevermind the playing. I want to share the experience with this setup. I am running the external microphone via a mixer (UB1002), and it was quite akward not get to much signal into the camera. On the mixer side I had to decrease all levels much compared to line in the signal into my computer. The camera settings confused me, since I thought I had to turn the camera mic off (from some internet tutor). I ended up setting the cameras mic level to 2-3/20, and here's the nice part: no background noise!? (Wich makes me wonder if the cameras microphone is fully muted, I really can't tell).
Today I noticed the 'hard play' (fortissimo) is no problem. Just move the microphone a feet futher away.
