Actually that is not correct. The light gathering capability of an APSc lens at f4 is precisely identical to that of a f5.6 lens on full frame. Take 2 comparison shots and you will see they will exhibit the same amount of noise. Unfortunately that APSc lens will be as big and expensive as the f5.6 FF lens.

Yes and this is why the smaller the sensor the more noise in low light situations I really don't get why people are arguing on this thread. Like I said earlier my xf-35mm f1.4 lens on my XT-1 is equal to a 52.5mm F2.1 on full frame. Crop sensor will affect DOF, Focal lenth, and LIGHT GATHERING
