Re: Canon G1X II Moonshot

Hi requa!

Thanks so much for this!  It's a very good shot - beautifully clear - and you can still make out quite a bit of detail.  Certainly more than just a "dot".

On October 8th this year there's a lunar eclipse happening (visible throughout most of Asia, Australia and North America).  I think the G1X mk2 could be a very good tool for making some great shots of this, given the excellent high ISO capability of the camera.  Since you can open the lens to f3.9, you should be able to take a shot at about 1/4s, at ISO 1600 and get a pretty decent shot.

The camera has some excellent star trail/astrophotography features, which I'm also very interested in, and so my interest is also in lunar photography, which is why I'm very grateful to you for showing me how well this camera performs even in this arena...

Regards - Helmut
