advice please: mirrorless + lenses for normal use + underwater
Jun 7, 2014
Hello people! I am new to the forum and I am kinda new to the photography world.
well, not that new as I always liked to take pics, but I never really bought any particular gear.
now I want to finally buy a camera and I was thinking of buying a mirrorless as I don't need a super professional full frame camera and also I really would like something more portable because I don't want to go on holiday with a 5kg camera on my neck.
I also think, correct me if I am wrong, that a mirrorless can be a good solution also for scuba diving photography.
I don't have any particular "need" except that I would like a camera that I can use both for landscape / portrait photos but also a camera that I can use underwater.
therefore, in all of my ignorance, I was thinking that maybe I need a camera which is good with macros and also a camera that is fast to turn on and take the pic, right?
forgive my "not-very-technical-language"
I am thinking of buying 2 lenses - I quite like a lens like the sigma 18-35mm F1.8 and then maybe a 50-200mm and I also need a underwater protection for my camera.
well, the camera I had in mind are sony nex 6000 (or similar like nex 6), lumix GX7 or any other camera that you think it is good.
what I need are advices about the "whole package" which I mean camera, lenses and underwater protection.
you might tell me: go to the store and check by yourself what you like and how is your feel with the cameras.
I understand, I can and I will do it, but I don't have that particular needs as I am not a Pro.
my girlfriend bought few months ago a sony nex 3 and I used it during our holiday in cuba.
to me it doesn't really matter how and where the setting are, buttons etc, as I won't use it on a daily basis so my needs and sensitivity about those things might be different from yours.
as a budget I can spend up to:
1800 USD equals to 1200 euro equals to 1000 UK pounds.
any advices?
thank you so much in advance, you are not dealing with a Pro so please be patient with me
