OK, it'll help me to have some feedback here.

These are X20 RAF files developed in LR4.4 and my first attempts at PhotoNinja today. I have to say LR has taken more work to get the results, whereas PN looked very good with the defaults. But I've changed exposure, clarity/detail, sharpening, NR in both programs. PN lacks a lot of LR's editing controls and of course the complete workflow, but I've got an open mind right now and need to try a series of other RAWs and of course those from an X-E1.

ACR/LR's problems demosaicing X-Trans sensor raw files are long standing but have seen some improvement with updates of the ACR/LR raw processing engine. You've got to update to LR 5.4 to be current and get the best processing effort ACR/LR can provide.

There's no sense in using LR 4 since the demosaicing of XTrans sensor files has been improved since that version.
