Welcoming the new Sigma user!

I've just received an email to say my DP2M is shipping and expected to be here on Monday. I know I swore I would never get one of these but now I have had my rush of blood moment due to an over-exciting debate on this very forum, I find I'm quite anticipating putting it through its paces.

Looking forward to trying it next week (even though I know I'll hate using it!).

Welcome to the very small crowd of Sigma users!

I've got a DP3M but Sandy F proved that the colors out of the DP2M are just as good, so it boiled down to a focal length preference after all.  These DPxMs are the ultimate Merrills to be sure.

Play with SPP a good long while and I'm sure you will grow to appreciate it.  Meanwhile, set SPP sharpening to -1, export a JPG without making further adjustments, and sharpen (or not) and do other post processing in Lightroom or your favorite tool.  Maybe this is the easiest way to get started.

There is most definitely a palpable difference in image quality between Foveon/Merrill and CFA.  Have fun!
