Essences of Dandelion

Way back in 1982 I had a shot of a Dandelion on the cover of Camera Craft magazine down in OZ.

It was shot on Kodachrome slide film using a technique called Tri Color which was popular at t he time, in fact I wrote a couple of articles on it. Last night I decided to revisit the technique with the LX7. It turned out more subtle, and I used the Fractalius filter selectively in the final version.

Using 3 tiny Red, Green and Blue led lights to" paint" the subject during an 8 sec exposure

Applying the Fractalius filter in Photoshop and then using the History Brush on the plumes selectively.

Great table top exercise for those long winter nights upon us.

Have a great weekend everyone, we're celebrating the Queen's Birthday long weekend Down Under.
