High School CIF Masters track meet
Ed, Thanks for looking at my shots. I arrived an hour early to set up and scope out the place. They started the pole vaulters before the event officially began. You are correct f8 does help to isolate the athlete. I was fiddling with the settings and should have left them at 2.8 This angle was giving me the faces of the pole vaulters as they went up and over. Sometimes we have very little control over the background. Blur is the best we can hope for.
There were 4 or 5 photographers on the same side. I knew it was a dangerous place to be. I perched myself behind a steel pole and never took my eye off the discus. It scary to think of the chances we take to get the best shots.
