Don't forget to make special effort to protect your camera and lenses from the steam coming off the geysers.  On a windy day, especially on cooler days, the steam is overwhelming and there is no escaping it while pinned down on the boardwalks.  The steam has a high mineral content and is very acidic.  It will do a number on your lens if you get careless and the residue dries.  This makes it all the more wiser to keep a polarizing filter on your lens at all times when lighting conditions accommodate that.  At a minimum, put a UV or clear filter on all of your lenses.
