I go back far enough to remember that the daylight balance for the same reversal film could vary 500 degrees Kelvin depending on whether you bought your film in Europe or N. America.

'Daylight' also varied quite markedly; I once exposed part of a film on the west coast of Canada, then flew to England and exposed the rest. The difference in the quality of the light was extraordinary.
