I remember reading a Canon blurb about the PRO-100 comming with starter cartridges that have slightly more ink to fill the ink supply lines. Only you would know if you had both starter and replacement cartridges to weigh to see any differences.

Yes I believe you are correct. The "Setup Carts" are filled to the BRIM and at first seem to last forever. There are approximately 4 drops till the YELLOW warning comes up and after that the optical prims kicks in and declares it empty. It only takes about 8-9 ml to fill the liquid chamber.
