Now that Nikon knows how to fix the D800 I am surprised how many owners are reluctant to send it in for corrections. It seems that where you send it may be important and it may take more than one trip but they can fix it for you. Since the D600 oil fiasco Nikon is really trying to be more responsive to camera and lens problems. Sometimes persistence is what is required. I had very reasonable communication with Nikon, including uploaded photos, but ultimately they did understand the camera had problems and fixed them.
