I'm sitting here wondering if a custom WB were shot from a 'pure white' illuminant. Would that do it and where on earth is there such an illuminant? Illuminant 'E'?

Following on from that, and still in search of 'Foveon' blue, I thought that Illuminant E could be simulated by setting the WB in Adobe Camera Raw to the white point for that illuminant. So I set the CCT to 5455K and nudged the tint slider to +15 (blind guess) in the magenta direction.

Le voila:

X3F opened in ACR 5.4 'Illuminant E' at left, 'As Shot' at right, compared in FastStone Viewer

A noticeable difference, not surprisingly. I claim that the left image is more accurate
