Re: What is "Foveon Blue"?

And what is the correct WB for a blue sky?

A Laurence-type answer, but in 2 words rather than one,

"It depends" or  3 words "Consider the illuminant"

My wordier answers, see our recent discussion about skies, altitude, moisture content, etc.

The bluest sky I've ever seen in Virginia was after a snow storm had scrubbed out all dust, hazy, pollutants, etc. Bluest skies I've ever seen are out in the US southwest, at higher altitudes, low moisture. Like a perfect polarizer, but without a polarizer!

In NV recently, we had a lot of wind thus DUST in the air, which messed up my distance shots more than my aperture selections did, I've decided. Sharpest shots were mornings, before wind, before dust. When we arrived back in LV after Overton/Valley of Fire, the dust was so bad you couldn't even SEE the Spring Mountains. I've never seen that in my multi trips to Las Vegas.
Best regards, Sandy
