So in what way are they 'enhanced'?  I just do not see much of a problem with photos on my Nexus 7 or my Samsung Note 10.1 2014.  Now both have slightly different color saturation and balance, but these are not calibrated displays.  That said, I did use the xrite Colortrue calibrated gallery app on each a month or so ago.  It has the limitation of only being able to calibrate the display for it's own app.  When I calibrated the image difference between the two was minimized.

Just for a personal reality check I opened the same images on my calibrated LCD monitor and each tablet.  On the Samsung with the display set to 'standard' and the adapt mode disabled, the images are very close in color, contrast and detail.  If I re-enabled the adapt mode, then the saturation goes up a bit on the Samsung.  It gets a Velvia punchiness to it.

The Nexus has no display adjustment.  There is a definite contrast difference, but that could be a pixel density issue.  Colors are not too far off if I adjust the brightness on the Nexus.
