S95 dead. Bought S110. Three questions

My loyal and well used S95 has been slowly dying for the last year or so.  For years it was carried everywhere I went - every day.

It has been great, but it has been in for repair a couple of times and now the pictures have become "foggy" when shooting into any significant light and last month the flash stopped working completely.  Time to retire it.

Eight months ago I bought a Canon-refurbished G12 as an experiment to help replace the, then faltering, S95.  The G12 is good for many things and I really like the flip out screen.  I will continue to use it.  However, for me, it is just too big for carrying all the time.

I decided the S120's price was not justified for my use, so today I bought a new S110 for $250.

Can anyone help with 3 questions on the S110:

Do you have any recommendations for a stick-on screen protector?

Suggested in-camera settings that have worked well for you?

Which memory card would you recommend?  I know there are different classes and there are SD, SDHC and SDXC cards. I will spend whatever is needed for the card but I don't want to buy an SDXC, AAAAA, Class 1,000,000 if it is overkill for the S110.

Thank for any help!

By the way, it was sure nice of Canon to make sure they don't use the same model of battery on any two cameras!!  My S95 uses the NB-6L, My G-12 uses the NB-7L, and my old, loan-out-to-people SD940 uses NB-4L.  Thank goodness my new S110 uses NB-5Ls so I will have an opportunity to buy even more spare batteries.

Thanks
