X-T1 and Fuji 14mm: Sensor Blooming or something else?

I just finished snapping a few photos with my new 14mm. I'm still fairly new to Fuji and processing the images (currently in the newest version of lightroom), but I'm having some trouble with what appears to be sensor blooming. I knowingly overexposed this shot because I didn't care about the sky. Unfortunately, it looks like either the sensor or the lens totally overloaded and left me with what appears to be a soft image. The image is relatively sharp (not perfect as it was handheld while crouching), but appears very soft because the highlights completely overwhelmed the sensor. Is this blooming? If not, do you know what happened? Any tips on how to avoid it going forward? I used to push photos like this on my d700 and never encountered a similar issue. First is the full image, second is the crop showing the blooming (or something else).
