X Pro1 serial numbers...Amazon sold used as NIB?

I picked up an X Pro1 from Amazon (NIB) with a serial # of 21Axxxx (2012, Q1) which is older than a lot of the ones listed as used on forums and eBay. That seems awfully old to be "new stock" from a huge volume seller like Amazon. On top of that, this one had clearly been used. There was a finger print on the OVF (front), the settings had been changed quite a lot and the image count started at 208-8205. I would expect something like 100-0001 through 100-0100. Additionally, the firmware was at v3.20.

I'll be sending it back. I went new to have a full manufacturer warranty. If wanted used, I'd have gone the eBay or forum route and saved a little more.
My questions:
1) What serial #'s are people seeing out there now as NIB?

2) What sort of image count should I be seeing? I doubt it's 208-8205.

I wonder if someone didn't order a new X Pro1 body and send back their old one as a return? This just seems odd to me. Thoughts?
