Just to follow up on this. I am able now use my nexus7 and note 2 to wirelessly control D90.

You'll need the app called dslrdashboard. It's a free and awesome app!

You'll also need OTG (on the go) usb cable so that you can connect camera to your nexus 7.

First, install the app in both nexus7 and note 2. Start the wifi-tethering on nexus 7. Connect to that wifi from note 2.

Then connect the camera to Nexus7. Start the app. Turn on the camera, it will ask you to open it via dslrdashboard.

Go back to Note2. Start the app, and click "Start Server". It will show the IP address.

Go back to Nexus7. Then click "Connect to server". Enter the same IP address.

Now you can see on your Note2 screen that the camera is connected.

You can now use your Note2 as a remote to control the camera operations!
