Get the 50 f1.2L. One of my faves. You already have the 85 which is my second fave. 100 starts to get a bit long.

Dave do you find having a 50 and 85 both to be a bit redundant? It's a common opinion, but I'd like your take on it. I shoot a 50/135/70-200 now for different needs. A fast 50 is hard to argue, it's quite useful, but a lot of people go for 35/85.

50mm is my goto length. It made up around 80% of my daily shots, with 35 and 85 handling the rest. Sometimes I'd use a zoom for things, but the look of the primes are so beautiful, I always stayed with them. I had the Nikkor 105 and almost never used it.

I find the 35 isn't as flattering as 50....and a fast 50 is beautiful for couple shots at weddings with the background fading out.

I normally kept the 85 on my D700, a 50 on the F5, and then a 10-20 and 17-50 on the 7D.

This makes perfect sense to me.  I also love a fast 50 for couple shots.  I just picked up the 135 as well.  Generally if I can use a prime I will, zooms are great for travel though...and certain events the 70-200 is more convenient.
