DOF control is the same.  Shallower on FF, deeper on aps-c

True.  If you need large prints at 6400 iso and up, it could matter.  Below that, noise is of little concern nowadays.

3) Maybe better dynamic range and shadow detail

Not so much in practice.  Aps-c sensors from Pentax, Nikon, Sony and Fuji all have better dynamuc range than any Canon FF.  More of a brand issue now.

I would consider getting one in the future.
