Yongnuo 568EX II Focus Assist and Back Focus Button
I'm hoping what I've found is a user error and not a 'glitch' or oversight in the product... Perhaps others can help guide me...
Let me start by saying that I have my camera set to use the back focus button (except in auto everything green mode), that is, a half-press of the shutter release _does_not_ result in an autofocus.
When using the green mode, the flash projects the AF assist beam as expected.
When using any other mode, since the half-press of the shutter does not perform AF, the AF assist beam is not projected. When pressing the rear AF button (enabled through settings), AF is performed, but the flash _does_not_ project the AF assist beam.
I'd expect (want) the AF assist beam to project.
Thoughts? Have I overlooked some setting? I've sent an email to Yongnuo support but suspect I may not get a reply, a reply will take a very long time or it will be in chenglish and I won't understand...
