To be fair, I have made a point of staying away from the lenses that are known to have problems. My point was though that it is so close to impossible for a person to buy 20 lenses and get 19 that are defective that he must be doing something himself.

If it's possible to win the lottery with the odds stacked against you as they are, getting a one out of twenty rate of good lenses is seriously within the realms of reality (although unlikely). I'd like to know what one can do to decenter a lens, use it to chock a wheel when your handbrake ceases to function maybe, I have no recollections of it.

Set up a test that guarantees a bad result and see how may lenses turn in bad results.

Luckily I didn't have to convince Tamron or Sigma, they acknowledged the problems.

Did they acknowledge a problem or did they just blindly accept returns until you got tired?

Sorry you seem to have got the wrong idea,, these were decentered lenses, the Tamron didn't produce sharp results until F11 across the frame,we are not talking about a stop or two, do you really expect someone to live with that? and the Sigma 50-150, no point in having a 2.8 lens if you have to stop it down to F8-11 to get a half decent sharpness. If you haven't had these problems I'm very happy for you, I did, the proof is that these lenses are now my go to lenses and rarely let me down complete with the 10-20 Sigma. Photozone have complained time after time, especially recently with Sony, do you think they've got it wrong? The bottom line is it's the luck of the draw, and I drew some short straws!

PS. If you want to buy my Sigma 18-50mm EXDC 2.8 decentered to hell you can have it very cheaply, check it out for yourself.
