extremely good news on the latest Apple products - since 10.9.3 (this week) not only the Mac Pro late 2013 but also bot retina Mac Book PRO's late 2013 support 60 Hz on UHD displays

that means even a rMBP13 inch can fully support UHD (=3840x2160) in 60 Hz vie display port 1.2 (which is basically the Thunderbolt 2 port

MacBook Pro (Retina, Late 2013) or Mac Pro (Late 2013) also support 60 Hz displays using multi-stream transport (MST). These displays need to be manually configured to use MST. Follow the steps below to use the display's built-in controls to enable this feature.

What a joke. Apple well knows that plenty of their older hardware support UHD SST 30Hz absolutely perfectly and yet they have locked support out in Mavericks. Looks like I will never upgrade to Mavericks. That is how I chose to solve that problem. NOT be forced into buying new HW that I do not need.

So I will stick with pre-Mavericks hacked to unlock the UDH 30Hz that the harrdware supports.

Apple should be utterly ashamed.
