After selling my Canon gear and buying a NX200 a few years ago, and then moving on to a NX20, I have decided to move on.

I love the NX system, but in end, the low light auto focus performance on the NX20, together with the fact that it is impossible to film any video without lens noise has made me throw in the towel.

I know the NX30 seems to have improved the focusing with the addition of phase detection, but given the fact I can buy a Canon 100d for about half the cost, it being almost as small, and have silent STM video focusing, means I will give it a miss.

I have listed all my gear on the for sale forum:

There is some good stuff in there, including a SEF20A flash, 20mm prime, 50-200mm OIS II and of course, the NX20.

Interesting post. I did semi serious videos for a Toastmaster speaking club and much more critical work in their competitions using an NX20 on a video tripod with the 18-55 and sometimes the 30mm. There was some noise, mostly low level focus mechanical noise and a low frequency hum from the camera. This was easily removed in Pinnacle software. The results were very good. Better in fact than the purpose made JVC HD video camera we bought for the job.

The main drawback with the NX20 was the lack of microphone jacks which has been rectified on the NX30. The issue with the NX20 at the back of the hall with camera mounted mics was that they picked up all the audience noise. We got around this in a big hall by using Sennheiser walkaround radio mics for the speakers, recording the audio separately and mixing the result in software.

This would be an impossible drag for casual use but as we were charging for the DVD we had to do a proper commercial grade video edit anyway and the guy we used had no difficulty synchronising up sound and video.

I haven't tried Pinnacle - will take a look...
