I love the NX system, but in end, the low light auto focus performance on the NX20, together with the fact that it is impossible to film any video without lens noise has made me throw in the towel.
You need to buy proper lens for silent recording
I tried several lenses. All either had intrusive motor noise or a high pitched whining noise caused by the OIS - which you want on when recording video. There is no ext mic socket either, to try and reduce this.
I know the NX30 seems to have improved the focusing with the addition of phase detection, but given the fact I can buy a Canon 100d for about half the cost, it being almost as small, and have silent STM video focusing, means I will give it a miss.
And here you have STM lens for silent recording.
Still, I cannot believe that contrast detection AF is any good compared to mirrorless. And cotrast AF is used in recording.
I notice that Samsung do some STM lenses now...interesting.
STM is a marketing term which means stepper motor, all Samsung lenses are either stepper motor or linear motor (voice coil, works like MagLev train, called voice coil since it is similar to a speaker driver), with the exception of the 60mm and 85mm which are ultra-sonic motors (these aren't going to be for video).
Canon just happens to use STM motors which are quieter, but slower focusing.
The 18-200mm is designed for video, with a voice coil motor it should be silent. I haven't tried it for video. The resolution is a bit low for stills (but this is a non issue for video), but the voice coil motor focus nearly instantly for stills.
The quiet Samsung lenses are the 12-24mm (no OIS), maybe 18-55mm OIS, 45mm f/1.8 (no OIS), 18-200mm OIS. I bet the new 16-50mm OIS Power Zoom is targeted to video as well.
The 20-50mm, 20mm, are probably going to be two of the worst lenses for video.
Sony probably has the best setup for video, not sure what level you are trying to do. Family shooting or something and the Samsung is probably fine. There is a user on here Leon, who wasn't that happy with the quality of the video from Samsung, but it really depends on what level you are shooting video.
