Re: extremely affordable 4k (aka UHD) 28" displays coming as companion to your MP or rMBP

extremely good news on the latest Apple products - since 10.9.3 (this week) not only the Mac Pro late 2013 but also bot retina Mac Book PRO's late 2013 support 60 Hz on UHD displays

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6008?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

that means even a rMBP13 inch can fully support UHD (=3840x2160) in 60 Hz vie display port 1.2 (which is basically the Thunderbolt 2 port

MacBook Pro (Retina, Late 2013) or Mac Pro (Late 2013) also support 60 Hz displays using multi-stream transport (MST). These displays need to be manually configured to use MST. Follow the steps below to use the display's built-in controls to enable this feature.
