I love the NX system, but in end, the low light auto focus performance on the NX20, together with the fact that it is impossible to film any video without lens noise has made me throw in the towel.

You need to buy proper lens for silent recording

I tried several lenses. All either had intrusive motor noise or a high pitched whining noise caused by the OIS - which you want on when recording video. There is no ext mic socket either, to try and reduce this.

I have absolutely no noise with 18-200 or 45mm. Actually there is no noise with short and long stabilised kits, at least not in my case.

I know the NX30 seems to have improved the focusing with the addition of phase detection, but given the fact I can buy a Canon 100d for about half the cost, it being almost as small, and have silent STM video focusing, means I will give it a miss.

And here you have STM lens for silent recording.

Still, I cannot believe that contrast detection AF is any good compared to mirrorless. And cotrast AF is used in recording.

I notice that Samsung do some STM lenses now...interesting.

Not sure if I understand what you mean here.
