Re: Subjective camera preferences.....

I've read through many responses here, but not all, and can relate to many.  Digital cameras/lenses represent an amazing and exciting technology that is only now starting to mature.  And the people who hang out on forums such as this are pretty much by definition "gear heads", and I include myself in that description.  Yes, I love to constantly be trying out new gear-- lenses, bodies, tripods, filters, flash-- even bags.  Photography has been a life long passion and main hobby.

It was the E1 that totally turned me on to digital photography big time and I've gone:  E1>E300>E510 x2>E30>E520>E3.  Then left OLy to pursue better low light sensors with Canon:  40D>50D>60D>70D>5DMKII>6D, and also the Pentax K5 x2-- all w/ plenty of lenses.

Favorite combos over the years:

1.  E1 w/ 14-54, E3 and E30 w/ Pan/Leica 14-150 and 12-60, Canon 60D w/ 15-85, Pentax K5 w/ 24-70 f2.8, Canon 6D w/ 24-105 L, Oly EM5, EM1, and EM10 w/ 12-40, 9-18, 75-300 II, Pan 12-35, 35-100, and 8mm fish eye.

2.

Now back w/ m43 when Oly introduced EM5, though I found the interface a bit kludgy w/ $300. grip a necessity but only using part 1, and then w/ 2 shutter releases.  I think the EM1 solved all that.  But the EM5 brought stellar IQ to the m43 format and I quickly became a believer and felt that I had "come home"-- I was a long time OM user too.  I needed good ISO 3200 f2.8 at 1/15 SS and the EM5 sensor delivered.  I just sold my entire FF Canon system (too big and heavy) and bought the EM10, 12-40, and Panasonic 8mm fish eye with sale proceeds-- oh, and a big screen TV;-).  I already had the EM1 and other lenses.

What I'm finding is sort of odd in that I actually prefer shooting w/ the EM10 w/ whatever lens as it's very responsive-- but it's a fair weather system and when the rains start again I'll go back to the EM1.

We live in exciting times and I'm an Equipment Junkie.
