I recommend leaving your camera in Manual mode for a while.

Understanding why we select a certain aperture or shutter speed is very important and needs to become second nature.

Having to decide on both and seeing how they interact helps you learn faster than letting the camera pic one or both.

After you are fluent feel free to use the other modes where the camera makes shutter speed and/or aperture decisions.
