There is no such problem with that approach.

Of course, sensor performance differs from camera to camera, even within a given sensor format. That's a secondory factor everybody does understand perfectly.

It is no excuse to ignore and not scale for the dominant primary factor.

Moreover, the difference does NOT depend on light level -- you can verify that in the detail tabs at dxomark. It only appears to you as you are not accomodated to scale and observe that noise is less observable at lower equiv. ISO levels.
