24mm and 70mm rule the game

IMHO, the intermediate f-stops aren't really that important. This is why:

You either work at the absolute edge of available light photography, and then you'll go straight to 24mm which allows a long blur-free exposure time and you'll enjoy the 35mm-equivalent F4.9 light gathering capability. Here, 24mm is a bonus over 28mm.

Or you work in the tele domain, either for portraiture or to zoom into details. And then you'll go straight to 70mm and you'll enjoy the 35mm-equivalent F7.6 light gathering / depth of field capability (which isn't great but still beats APSC DSLR kit lenses with their F9.6 35mm-equivalent apertures).
