It is funny how people tend to distort things to their liking or to rationalize an acquisition.

I have never stated that high end gear must not carry a compatible price tag.

High quality lenses have their place and should be priced accordingly. The problem with Sony is that very few lenses in their line can be called high end.

If you buy a Leica lens today, you can be sure that your investment can be recovered in great part if you sell it in the future. That is not true with for the majority of manufacturers.

They are just mass production merchandise, with quality control issues as users have showed above. Therefore, they have been priced to increase the profit margin. Let's not live in denial.

I have a nice confortable, spacious turbocharged car that I paid a premium for. And I am reminded of that everytime I am on the road and press the pedal on the right.

It should be the same with lenses: value=IQ/price.
