5D mkIII manual focus assist

I'm a Nikon user and I intend to switch to Canon because the 5DmkIII is the best replacement for my old D700 (it hurts me a lot to admit that the D800 is not the camera I need). But during the transition, I want to keep some of my Nikon lenses to use with the 5DmkIII via adapter before I can afford some good Canon glasses. So I have a few questions that need to ask:

- Is the 5DmkIII's viewfinder good enough to use with manual focus lenses?

- If I choose a single AF point, does the camera have any focus indicator, or "beep" sound to confirm focus when I focus on that AF point with a manual focus lens? (of course with a chipped AF confirm adapter)

Thank you!
