auto lens caps on small pancake zooms
1

Seems like this is a critical missing feature for those of us wrangling kids with the other hand while shooting.  I have an aftermarket auto cap for my EX2f.  It works OK, but there is vignetting on wide shots depending on where the blades for the autocap are positioned, and it just seems generally flaky.  I really like the idea of the portability/flexibility of the NX 16-50 pancake zoom (I'll live with the distortion on the wide end), but I really would have wanted a built-in cap.

It seems like most of the other mirrorless pancake zooms (sony 16-50, panny 12-32, olympus 14-42) have no built-in lens cap save the nikon1 10-30.  And it seems like Nikon did a great thing there.  Maybe it's easier since their image circle is so much smaller and the lens diameter is a smaller fraction of the mount diameter.

People claim that the auto-cap is just one more part to fail.  I claim that these are consumer oriented lenses that enthusiasts will use when they are chasing after their kids with the other hand.  I think these things would be much more user friendly if they had the auto caps built in.

Thoughts?
