There is what the F stop can be set at, and then there is the maximum useful stop down. With small sensor cameras the smallest (largest number) F stop that can be used without loss of quality tends to be set by the lens diffraction. About half way down the page at this link, is a calculator to determine when the lens becomes diffraction limited. By my entry the RX100/II, RX10 which all use the same size sensor and pixel count are diffraction limited at F 5.6, but not at F 4. F4 should give the sharpest images.
