Thinking about an SB-400. Thoughts?

Not a fan

My wife got an SB400 for her D80, but hardly ever used it.   I have SB24, SB26, SB800, SB900 and SB910, so I have little need for it.

It's ok as a camera-mounted flash, but it's got one limitation that really bothers me in the field.   The flash tilts, but does not swivel.  If I have camera-mounted flash, I try (a lot!) to bounce it, usually from a ceiling.   I take lots of portraits in portrait orientation, and you just can't swivel the flash to the ceiling in that orientation.

As a replacement for the pop-up flash, it's just fine.   High enough to cut down on lens hood shadow a lot.
