I have Just bought the Samsung NX1000 and it comes with the standard 20-50mm lens.

This is my 1st camera with adaptable lenses and is very keen to learn the skills of photography.

My dad has given me a Vivitar 70-210mm 1:4.5-5.6 MC Micro Focusing zoom lens (52mm) and just wondering what sort of adapter I would need for this lens to fit onto my new camera - NX1000.

Any help would be greatly received.

Thank you.

Here is some (though not completely up to date) information on the NX mount the NX1000 uses: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_NX-mount

There are more adapters available than only the ones listed on that page.

To find an adapter you will need to know what mount the lens has, this page is a good reference to different mounts: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lens_mount

Some likely candidates to check are: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikon_F-mount and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canon_FD_lens_mount

Just to be clear, the reason we don't know what mount the Vivitar is for is because Vivitar made many of their lenses with several different mounts so they could sell it to Nikon, Canon, Minolta, etc... users. Err, well, technically I think mostly other companies made the lenses and Vivitar was just the brand (not sure if they made any of their own or not?). If you take a photo of the mount on your lens and post it, then someone will probably be able to identify it for you.

This page may also give some info: http://www.robertstech.com/vivitar.htm
