It's been a while, be nice to me :)

Hi all

It's been a while since I shared any of my photos on any forum, or even with any of my family and friends

Earlier this year I had a bit of a breakdown, and I have only really started to get out again recently

Both my Dr and therapist/counselor have suggested that as I enjoy photography I should try to get out and just enjoy myself, so...

Brightcolours' challenge for panning (mini challenge 402) got me out with a specific goal in mind, and I was very pleased to get an honourable mention with my entry (it was something I had been wanting to do for a while), but I was a bit bummed that there was significant cloud cover that day

So, the next week we had a great autumn day here, so I went out again and visited 3 places I like - the airport (but I won't bore you with that), the Mt Ainslie lookout and Lake Burley Griffin (specifically Aspen Island)

I took a bucketload of photos, including several more panoramas, with the sun on the city this time

These are some of what I like, they are not perfect, or perhaps even technically good, but I like then and want to share them, get some feedback, and build myself up to do better next time

Thanks very much for your time in reading this, and consideration in commenting, but please, be honest, but not brutally so. At least not till I have a bit more confidence in myself

These were taken on a 500D with 70-200F4L non-IS and 18-135 IS

Looking down ANZAC Parade from War Memorial to Parliament - I like the symmetry here

Parliament (old and new)

Black Swan, I know the sun is behind it, but I like the way the beak kinda glows

Some of the autumn colour in the city

Some more autumn colour, I particularly like the bright red trees at the bottom (they are all over the place, but I haven't figured out what they actually are)

A panorama to the northwest (the last one was more to the south, if I have my bearings right)

National Carillon, apparently the biggest musical instrument in Australia

2 different types of duck on the lake

Picnic tables and trees on Aspen Island

Thanks so much for looking

Paul
