If the awesome a6000 comes with the 16-50, you might as well just buy a used Canon g11 for regular photography - or some macro. Throw on some alternate firmware like chdk to get bracketing, etc.

Not trolling. serious suggestion.

Same with the nex-7/18-55...

Thoughts?

1. APS-C vs 1/1.7" sensor: much higher DOF control and much better low-light capability

2. You can change lenses at will (vs. you can't). The zoom lens of the G11 is limited to 28mm at the wide end, which limits architecture/small room/indoors/landscape photography. On an ILC cameta you have the possibility to put on UWA lenses or 500 mm mirror lens and photograph the moon.

3. Much higher possibility to crop pictures (24 M vs 10 M), higher IQ, more details etc.

If any of those points mean something to a photographer, then it is more than obvious which camera he is going to pick.

But yes, it is absolutely possible to take great pictures with a cameraphone, and of course with a compact like the G11.
