Should I buy a Fuji XE1 with 18-55 kit or use Canon FD

Hey there! I have been shooting film photography for about 2 years now with an old Canon A-1 and have collected a variety of FD lenses that I love. I am about to switch to digital though and have decided to get a Fuji XE1. My question is should I buy it with the body only and use adapters with my existing FD (28mm, 50mm, 135mm) lenses (I already have 3 adapters) or pay extra for the 18-55mm kit? I am someone who is traveling to Belize next for a month and plan on doing some heavy shooting there. I really enjoy using the manual focus on my old A1 and am not too fanatic about autofocus. That being said I noticed that to buy the 18-55mm lens independently would run me FAR more money than if I just buy it with a body (why is that?). Advice would be appreciated, thanks!
