Some birdies with the 100-300 mm on a GH2

These were taken over the last week:

nesting mallards

White throated sparrow ????

"... and besides that I want you to pick up your fluffed feathers after you. Now turn right at the next intersection...."

blurry tug-of-war with lunch..

Sandhill Cranes on Departure.

Eastern Phoebe with lunch snack

Turkey Vulture comes within range of 100-300 sticking out of truck window.

on patrol ...

checking out photog.

Bird food pollinating emergent pussywillows.

Pileated woodpecker takes a minute from sitting on eggs to check out photog in truck.

I am getting to know the 100-300 better and appreciate it more on each outing.  It's major drawback for me is that I cannot use Manual Focus Assist on it ---- as its static friction is WAY too high.  If it had the smooth action of the 14-140 II it would be much easier to use.  I suspect that there is no way to fix this, eh?
