I have actually spoken to someone who has handled one and he said it felt strange to begin with but became more comfortable as he got used to it. He said it's definitely made to be held with two hands - just like Kazuto Yamaki said.

Sure that shape can take photos. It may even do it very well. But that’s not the point. The question is: Has it to be like that to take a stable sharp shot. Now don’t tell me you can’t take a sharp image with a Merrill DP. For greater stability, an OVF will do you a lot more good, imho.

Well, I have to say I agree with you about a built-in OVF. That would be a wonderful addition.

As for the dpQ's shape... I personally can't say how good a platform it is for providing stability because I haven't tried it - and neither have you. Just give it time. Maybe you will like it when you actually get to hold one yourself.

Sigma also explained that the DPQ has lots of guts inside and needs to be big to house them all. That’s even less convincing. To get more inner space within a given dimension, the last thing you do is to make the case thin and long. Make it two times thicker, 1/3 shorter and with a grip, it’s all set.
